Mary Eileen McDonnell born 28 April 1952, is a famous American stage, film and television actress. Most famously, she is known for her role as the protagonist in the television show Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves. Other notable parts include President Laura Roslin from Battlestar Galactica and also the president's wife from Independence Day as well as Donnie's Mother from Donnie's Darko.
