Samantha Mohr

Entering her first pageant at the recommendation by one of her fellow UGA student, Mohr won the Miss Columbus 1985 title. This win made her eligible to compete in Miss Georgia. Miss Georgia pageant in June 1985. Mohr claimed the crown on June 22nd, 1985. Mohr earned over $3500 in scholarship funds and various prize money from the state pageant. Her activities as Miss Georgia included public appearances at locations across Georgia. Mohr took part as Miss Georgia at Miss America 1986 in Atlantic City (New Jersey) in September of 1985. Mohr was able to determine the likelihood that Susan Akin would win Miss America with the help of computer simulation. The odds for his success were 22:1. Mohr did not make the Top 10 finalist for the title of Miss America. Mohr's tenure as Miss Georgia lasted until she crowned her successor, Marlesa Ball, as Miss Georgia 1986 on June 28, 1986.
